Beautiful beaches, magnificent sunsets, warm sea water – so much to love about Greece!

A day spent in Sarti is highly recommended. Beautiful sandy beaches and awesome service at the beach, bars where you have a sun lounger and umbrella to enjoy sipping a delicious cocktail. I loved the sandbank just a few meters from the shore, where you can stand and feel like you’re standing in the middle of the sea.

Of course the food, oh the food!, was delicious! Not just at the restaurants but we were treated to dinner at my friend’s parents’ home, I still long for seconds!

We made our home at the lovely Vizona Hotel in Metamorfosi. Our host, Chris, was very helpful in giving us advice on the best beaches to visit and sights to see. I loved the hotel’s minimalist, clean decor where the rooms were always cool on those 30+ degree days, had excellent wifi and a Netflix-enabled smart TV – just everything we needed for our 6 day stay!

Our morning pastries from the delightful, family-run Tasos bakery which was a short walk from the hotel. In the evenings we had ice-cream from them as well. So delicious!

If you’re considering a holiday in Greece, make a visit to Chalkidiki. The direct flight to Thessaloniki airport is just 2 hours from Zurich and in Greece, they welcome you with open arms.
